Founded in February of 2011 from the former “Band Staff”, The Physical Operations of the Spartan Marching Band provides and maintains the physical environment and is responsible for keeping the Band running behind the scenes. We interact with many exterior services and university departments to provide the best possible services at Demonstration Hall for the Spartan Marching Band.

The Physical Operations is composed of seven parts:

  • Uniform Division
  • Library Services
  • Instrument Division
  • Spartan Brass Staff
  • Drum Crew
  • Saturday/Game day Staff
  • Quartermaster

We care for 550 uniforms, assorted uniform parts, and facilitate a dry cleaning program for the uniforms. Manage and maintain over 300 universities owned marching instruments and instrument storage systems. Provide for the printing cutting and packing of all music and drill charts used in rehearsal. Facilitate: Marching band infrastructure planning and construction, field set up, logistical needs, the distribution of game day food, water, and necessary supplies, the keepers of one 43′ custom semi trailer, trailer, utility vehicles, and a small arsenal of service tools. We also run the set up/ necessary logistics for Spartan Brass, and look after roughly 15,000 sq. ft. of storage and rehearsal space. The Team is also responsible for the cleanliness within our areas.

The Mission of The Physical Operations:
